RAWALPINDI, July 24: A drug-trafficker was sentenced to one year of rigorous imprisonment (RI) by Additional District and Sessions Judge Mohammad Sarwar Sidhu on Wednesday.
The convict had been arrested by the Westridge police for possessing 1,100kg of heroin.
In another case, the judge acquitted a man of the charge of raping a woman in the jurisdiction of Chauntra Police Station. The accused was acquitted as both the parties had arrived at a compromise.
Additional District and Sessions Judge Mian Azam sentenced a man named Sajid to six months of rigorous imprisonment, who had 150g of Charas in his possession when he was arrested by Ganjmandi police. —A Reporter
