Cases against 54 water thieves

BAHAWALNAGAR, July 24: Police have registered cases against 54 water thieves.

Some 39 cases have been registered in Fordwah division, six in Sadqia division and nine in Hakra division.

LOOTED: Thieves made off with cash, jewellery and watches worth Rs200,000 from the house of one Akram of Sadiq Nagar, some 23km from here.

Ghulam Qadir with an accomplice broke into the house of Asif in 119/6-R, Faqirwali, and took away a motorcycle and ornaments worth Rs112,000.

RAPED: An eight-year-old girl was raped allegedly by her stepfather, Ashfaq, in Faqirwali, Fortabbas tehsil, here on Tuesday evening.

The girl was rushed to hospital where her condition was stated to be serious.

Police have arrested the accused.

INJURED: As many as 16 people were injured when a truck overturned near Donga Bonga.
