Two banks announce profit rates

KARACHI, July 24: The International Finance Investment and Commerce Bank (IFIC) of Bangladesh operating here has announced 8.5pc return on saving accounts for the half year ended on June 30, 2002.

Under monthly super saving accounts the bank has announced 8pc return on deposits of below Rs200,000; 9.5pc on deposits of Rs200,000 to Rs5m and 10pc on deposits of more than Rs5m.

Under the six-monthly super saving accounts the bank paid 8pc profit on deposits of below Rs200,000 and 11pc on deposits of more than Rs5m.

Under IFIC super munafa monthly scheme the bank paid 9.5pc return.

The account holders got the following rates of return on fixed term deposits: one month 8.5pc; three months 9.25pc; six months 10.25pc and one year 11pc.

RUPALI BANK: Rupali Bank Limited of Bangladesh operating here has announced 8.1pc return on saving accounts for the half year ended on June 30, 2002.

The bank has announced the following rates of return on fixed term deposits: one month 10.1pc; three months 10pc; six months 10.3pc and one year 10.6pc.
