Exports to S. Arabia increase

RIYADH, July 23: Exports from Pakistan to Saudi Arabia went up by $52 million to $293 million during the first 11 months of the fiscal year (July 2001-May 2002), figures released by the commercial section of the Pakistan embassy here indicate. The increase registered during the period in percentage terms was 21 per cent over 2000-01, 52 per cent over 1999-2000 and 73 per cent over the export figures of 1998-99.

The Export Promotion Bureau had set an annual export target of $278 million to Saudi Arabia. Exports to Saudi Arabia from Pakistan has maintained its momentum throughout the year and have already surpassed the target within 11 months.
