LAHORE. July 22: The Pakistan Flour Mills Association has announced a two-rupee increase in the price of a 20 kg atta bag following upward revision of electricity tariff. PFMA adviser Bilal Sufi said in a statement that the increase (in atta price) had become inevitable in view of increase in production costs due to higher electricity tariff.
He said that the flour milling industry was in crisis due to 33 per cent increase in fixed charges and continuous increase in power rates. He said the industry should be exempted from 15 percent GST on electricity bills for keeping the atta prices stable. —Reporter
