Customs men sentenced

QUETTA, July 22: The Accountability Court-II Judge Mohammad Nadir Khan Durrani sentenced four customs officials to rigorous imprisonment on corruption charges.

According to the judgment announced, Altaf Hussian, ex-Inspector Customs, was sentenced to six months’ rigorous imprisonment besides being fined Rs100,000.

Three others, Noor-ud-din, Fazal Mohammad and Haji Gul Agha, were also convicted and awarded one-year rigorous imprisonment. A fine of Rs100,000 each was also imposed on them.

In case of non-payment of the fine money, the accused would undergo an additional rigorous imprisonment of four months.

They cannot hold any public office nor can they take part in any election.
