Baloch leader shot dead

QUETTA, July 21: A prominent leader of the Balochistan National Movement (BNM) and Nazim of Union Council Sri-kahan, Mir Ghulam Qadir Baloch, was gunned down by unknown assailants in the main Turbat Bazaar on Saturday, police said.

Witnesses said hooded men opened fire on Mir Qadir Baloch as soon as he came out of his car, killing him on the spot. Mir Qadir Baloch received over half a dozen bullets.

The assailants after killing the BNM leader fled on a motorcycle, witnesses said.

Police and officers of the Turbat administration reached the spot and removed the body to the Civil Hospital. According to police enmity could be the cause of the attack.

A case has been registered against the unknown accused and further investigation was in progress. No arrest has so far been made.
