Three killed in accident

KHAIRPUR, July 18:: Three people were killed in a head-on collision between a rickshaw and a wagon near Khairpur on Wednesday.

A wagon (R-1673) collided with a rickshaw as a result of which the rickshaw driver, Ghulam Mustafa, was killed on the spot while its passengers, Ali Mohammed Ujjan and Raheem Bux Soomro, were seriously injured.

Both the injured were taken to the Civil Hospital Khairpur where they died.

PHONE SUBSCRIBERS HOLD PROTEST: The telephone subscribers of Hingorja, a business town of Khairpur, continued their protest against the PTCL on Thursday.

Hundreds of subscribers observed shutter-down strike and held a protest demonstration in Hingorja.

They said that the PTCL’s claim of having converted all exchanges into digital was false as the Hingorja exchange was still non-digital and the telephone system was not working smoothly.
