LAHORE, July 17: The fancied bay gelding Thank You  Boss, superbly  ridden by riding boy A. Imran strode to an easy win  in the feature event of the Lahore Gymkhana races at the  Racecourse Wednesday.

Thank  You Boss beat the long shot roan colt Haseen Love  by four lengths. Joint favourite Rambo’s Way finished third by a length while Decent Fellow completed the frame over four lengths further behind.

The race was keenly contested and at one stage Thank You Boss and Rambo’s Way were involved in a see-saw tussle, Imran pushed  his  mount  into  action which saw  him  through  to victory.

In the meantime, Haseen Love with a late burst outpaced Rambo’s Way to  occupy the second spot. In all, seven ran for  this sixth and last race of the day in which the winner clocked 49 1/5 seconds over 800 metres.

Earlier, the chestnut gelding Burrat Again justified his short-priced favouritism by landing the supporting event. Burrat  Again defeated Pistol Pete by half-a-length in a closely contested  race. Iqbal Maid and Royal Man completed the board among eight runners.

Riding  boy Imran completed a good double. He first won the supporting event partnering Burrat Again and then followed it with a splendid victory on Thank You Boss in the feature event.

The  chestnut gelding Russian Pet stormed home in the  fourth race. He defeated fancied Dhandhana by one length. Dhandhana, who was slow at the start made his way through to the field but his rider Azam Hussain was not seen at his best which cost him the race.

Similarly another rider Qasim Shah never let his mount Golden Time to run on merit and finished fourth in the same event. Both Azam Hussain and Qasim Shah   were suspended by the stewards for six and three months.

A consistent performer, the grey gelding Subzero crowned success in the third race. This  eleven-year-old defeated the fancied mare Lovely Diana by two  lengths in a somewhat astonishing  speed at this age. Tiger’s  Wood  and Sugar Dady completed the frame.

The five to twos Blue Blood outpaced his nine rivals to win in a start-to-finish. Favourite Fiji and stablemate Yarrow Braw finished second and third.

The fancied bay filly Flying Legs won the opener. She defeated Love Land, Barbara and  Sugar Dady. All the six events were contested over the sprinting distance of 800 metres.
