KARACHI, July 17: Five ships carrying containers, general cargo and high speed diesel are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Thursday.
According to KPT four ships, Saf Marine Tana, APL Cairo to unload and load containers, Paros to load molasses and Pinta to offload furnace oil were berthed after the sailing of five.
The departing ships were led by Sinar Batam, Saf Marine Tana, Oriental Jasmine, Chemstar King and Johar, while Honor River, Keefan, APL Cairo, Pinta, Al-Wajba, Kota Mulia are due to depart on Thursday.
Berth occupancy at the oil piers was again maintained at the rate of 100 per cent, while it fell to 41 per cent at the dry wharves.
Cargo handling activity at the wharves was thanks to steady arrivals of foreign flag vessels and rose to 68,020 tons comprising 10,711 tons of export cargo including 882 tons of rice and 57,309 tons of import tonnage.
The following ships are due on Thursday: Al-Maqwa, with high speed diesel, Bunga Dntan, Sima Kija, with containers, Efdim Hope and Beluga Performer, with general cargo.
