KARACHI, July 16: Four ships carrying containers are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Wednesday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was maintained on the higher side owing to steady arrivals. As all the new arrivals were toed to the vacant berths at both the wharves.

The ships, which were berthed included Kota Waruna, Sinar Batam, Honor River, Mar Challenger to unload and load containers, Matsu Kaze and Chemstar King to offload chemical and base oil.

Four ships Conti Valencia, Parvat, Kota Waruna and Andhika Adhidaya sailed out, while Chemstar King, Saf Marine Tana, Honor River and Keefan are due to depart on Wednesday.

The berth occupancy was maintained on the higher side both at the oil piers and the dry wharves at 100 and 50 per cent respectively.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves was active where a total tonnage of 95,544 tons comprising 9,452 tons of export cargo and 86,092 tons of import tonnage was handled.

The following ships are due on Wednesday: Sinar Bangka, Kota Mulia, Jamila and Sima Kija, all with containers.
