KARACHI, July 15: Five ships carrying containers, chemicals and crude oil are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Tuesday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was normal thanks to steady arrivals. Half a dozen ships were berthed including Parvat, Conti Valencia to unload and load containers, Andhika Adhidaya, Oriental Jasmine to unload chemicals, Keefan and Johar to offload high speed diesel and crude oil respectively.

Five ships, Hyundai Advance, Med Keelung, Good Hope, Warbah and Ievoli Shine departed on Monday, while Conti Valencia, Andhika Adhidaya, Kota Waruna, Parvat, Johar and Keefan are due to sail out on Tuesday.

Berth occupancy at the wharves showed modest improvement both at the oil piers and dry wharves at 67 and 36 per cent respectively.

Cargo handling activity was active as total tonnage rose to 63,110 tons comprising 2,060 tons of export cargo and 61,050 tons of import tonnage.

The following ships are due on Tuesday: Nur Yanbu, with chemicals, Shirvan, with crude oil, Mar Challenger, Saf Marine Tana and Al-Wajba, with containers.

KARACHI, July 15: Two tankers carrying edible oil were accommodated berths at Marginal Wharf during the last 24 hours, says a PQA press release on Monday. Five ships, Centaurus, Nats Emperor, Paros, Olympic, Miyama-I were at the wharves to laod and offload wheat, edible oil and iron ore.
