RAWALPINDI, July 14: Amir Jamaat-i-Islami Qazi Hussain Ahmad has asked the party workers to start preparations for the forthcoming general elections to lead Mutahida Majlis-Amal to success and rid the country of military rulers.

He was speaking as chief guest at a one-day workers’ training workshop at the JI local headquarters here on Sunday.

The JI chief said in the prevailing situation, the only way out was election. He urged the workers to convey the MMA’s message to every individual and educate them to make judicious use of their votes. Only then, can the country be freed from the grip of military bureaucracy and international financial institutions, he added. He hoped the coming together of all religious parties would give their alliance sweeping victory in the elections. And they can bring a change in the country’s affairs, he noted.

Mr Qazi appealed to the people to vote for Majlis-i-Amal so that the exploitative group, trained by the West and which has maintained monopoly over the country since its inception, can be shown the way out.

He said after the departure of the British, civil-military bureaucracy took over the country’s affairs and it is they who have imposed different rulers with no regard for the masses. He made specific mention of the finance minister, who, he said, is drawing salaries from abroad and tries to promote exploitative system.
