KARACHI, July 4: The Parents Educational Forum, an NGO comprising parents of studying children, on Thursday demanded that the government consider parents’ interests and take them into confidence while implementing decisions regarding school and college education.
Speaking at a press conference at the Karachi Press Club on Thursday, members of the PEF expressed their astonishment over the Sindh cabinet’s decisions regarding denationalization of educational institutes, formation of board of governors and initiation of self-finance schemes, saying nobody ever tried to consult parents on these most important issues.
Raja Shah Nawaz Janjua, chairman of PEF, rejecting provincial Education Department’s point of view, criticized the proposed denationalization of educational institutes and demanded reversal of the plan.—PPI
