8 outlaws surrender

KHAIRPUR, July 2: Eight bandits, belonging to three gangs, surrendered before the police on Tuesday, following a ten-hour encounter at a village near Ahmedpur.

The encounter began on Monday at about 2pm in Sain Dino Taggar village near Ahmedpur and ended at 12 at night. Two dacoits, the leaders of two of the gangs, were killed in the encounter.

The bandits who surrendered before the police were Leemon Channa, having a head money of Rs500,000, Sodhal Shar, Riaz Shaikh, Fida Hussain, Munawwar alias Mangiryo, Koro Shar, Ajaib Dhoondo, Hadu Junejo and Akbar Junejo.

The case of the encounter has been registered at the Ahmedpur police station.

The AIGP, Sukkur range, Nayyar Hasnain, DIG, operation, Syed Mushtaq Hussain Shah, and DPO, Khairpur, Abdul Khaliq Shaikh, briefing journalists here on Tuesday, disclosed that the Sindh governor had announced Rs500,000 reward for the Khairpur police officials who took part in the encounter.
