KARACHI, July 1: Two men were killed while resisting bandits in different areas of the city on Monday.
According to the police, four robbers barged into the house of Abbas Ali Jokhio, aged 25, in Dawan Goth in the limits of Gadap police station.
After collecting cash and valuables, the robbers approached Abbas’ wife to snatch the jewellery she was wearing. When Abbas put up resistance, the robbers shot him in the head and escaped. He died on the spot.
The police reached the spot and shifted the body to a hospital for autopsy.
Abbas had gotten married a week back. The police have failed to locate the unidentified robbers so far.
In another incident, a man was shot dead in the Quaidabad police limits.
Mir Mohammad, aged 50, hailing from upcountry had settled his family in Quaidabad.
He ran a public call office at Bilal Colony. After closing his shop late on Sunday night, he was on his way home to Sherpao Colony on his motorbike when two bandits intercepted him.
Mir put up resistance to the bandits who, in turn, opened fire at him and fled. Mir Mohammad suffered bullet wounds and died on his way to a hospital.
The body was handed over to victim’s family after autopsy. The police were also searching for the culprits.
