KARACHI: BSc results announced

KARACHI, July 1: The University of Karachi on Monday announced the results of BSc (pass) part-II annual examinations 2001, with a pass percentage of 41.01.

The top three positions went to girl students belonging to one government and two private colleges. Results of about 40 candidates were withheld for different reasons, including use of unfair means.

In all, 3,964 candidates had appeared in the examinations, out of whom 1,626 were declared pass. As many as 403 candidates got first division, while 1,158 were placed in second division. The number of those passed in the third division remained 65.

Momina Anwer, seat No 5,701, of the DHA Degree College for Women clinched first position by securing 1,146 out of 1400 marks. Kiran Sattar Essani, seat No 5,630, of the Govt St Joseph’s Girls College and Nisreen Siraj, seat No 5,702, of the DHA Degree College for Women got second and third positions, respectively.

New course: The Department of Psychology, University of Karachi, has announced to introduce a ten-week course on Forensic Psychology in its evening programme.

Candidates passing their graduation exams in 2nd division would be considered eligible for admissions. The course will be helpful for personnel of law-enforcement agencies.

Last date for submission of admission forms has been fixed as July 15, whereas admission forms are available at the main gate of the university on payment of Rs100.—PPI
