HYDERABAD, June 27: The agriculture extension, Sindh, launched a campaign against sub-standard and adulterated pesticides to ensure better production from cotton and other Kharif crops.
Four more pesticide samples were declared as sub-standard by the agriculture chemists, Hyderabad, during their tests in the laboratory.
The samples of Methamidophos 60SI, batch number 20020117 FCS-M1, of the Farm Care Service; Cypermatherine 10 EC, batch number 10359, of the Welcon Chemicals; Fenuclorate 20, EC batch number 990806, of the Reliance and Methamidophos 60SI, batch number WB/B 1129-A/01, of the Global Agro Service were found to be substandard.
These samples were taken from the following pesticide dealers: Hussain Bux and Zulfiqar Ali Dasti at Mureed Shakh, Ubaro Taluka, Ghotki District; Mohammad Rafiq, Haji Siddique, National Agriculture Store, Old Sabzi Mandi, Karachi; and Hafiz Mir Mohammed Pesticides Agency, Chore, Mirpurkhas.
The agriculture officers have been directed to get cases lodged against traders possessing sub-standard pesticide samples.
