KARACHI, June 27: The provincial education secretary, Nazar Hussain Mahar, has said that iron bars and gates erected in the corridors of the education department office were meant to facilitate the people and dispose off their matters without delay.

Referring to the earlier press reports, he stated that iron bars and gates on the first floor of Tughlaq House (Sindh Secretariat) were erected to restrict the entry of unconcerned persons in different sections who created unnecessary problems for the officers and employees of the education department.

Mr Mahar said that any person can meet him directly for his problem concerning any section of the department, instead of approaching the related section. He also issued directives to the staff not to stop any person who comes to meet him. However, timings were set for the visitors and he said that they may call on him at 11am or 3pm.

The secretary also visited the main iron gate where clerks are posted along with peons.—PPI
