ISLAMABAD, June 20: The Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) has outsourced some customers’ service centres in the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
PTCL director general (operations) Tanvir Ahmad inspected the centres that were recently outsourced to two private companies. These centres are located at F-7 Markaz, Islamabad Telegraph Offices, 7th Road Satellite Town and Rawalpindi telegraph office and telephone exchange.
Speaking on the occasion, the DG said these centres would be equipped with modern telecom facilities and would remain open round the clock.
He said public call offices were now being set up in cabins where a computerized system would eliminate human errors in the use of stop-watch for calculating the duration of calls.
Mr Ahmad said the PTCL was determined to provide best services to customer by introducing a one-window operation all over the country.
He said the PTCL had initially outsourced customer service centres in Karachi and Hyderabad and decided to introduce these centres all over the country on being encouraged by the response.
The DG on this occasion made it clear that the contracts for the centres had been awarded in a transparent manner.
He pointed out that there was a monitoring system in place for the outsourced centres.
