HYDERABAD, June 19: The AIGP, Hyderabad region, Abdur Rauf Yousufzai, here on Wednesday paid a surprise visit to the B-Section police station, Latifabad, and recovered five persons, including two women, who had been illegally detained.
The AIGP, after checking the record and lock up of the police station, found that Rasheed, son of Mehboob Ali, Pir Buksh, son of Allah Bachayo, Nadeem, son of Faqir Mohammad, Ms Zulekhan, daughter of Mohammad Buksh Solangi, and Ms Moona, daughter of Mushtaq, had been detained without any entry. He summoned the DSP, investigation, Aftab Nizamani, and ordered that FIR should be registered against the recovered persons, if they were wanted in any crime, in accordance with the law.
Mr Yousufzai also suspended SHO Rana Nasrullah and Writer Head Constable Koral Khan for misconduct, inefficiency and dereliction of duty.
He ordered an inquiry into the matter and directed the inquiry officer, DSP Imdad Ali Shah, to submit report within seven days.
He also suspended the in charge of the Sujawal police station, Thatta, Mohammad Sadiq Solangi, for his failure to control the crime in his jurisdiction.
The AIGP took serious notice of the looting of passengers of a bus (PA-2050), who had been robbed of Rs100,000 cash.
The in charge sub-inspector had not only failed to register the FIR but had also tried to hide the commission of the crime.
DSP Shahnawaz Pathan has been appointed as the inquiry officer who will submit report within one week.
