RAWALPINDI, June 17: Two bodies were found while three persons were killed in separate incidents in Rawalpindi and Islamabad on Monday, police said.
The Saddar Baruni police found a man’s decomposed body from an under-ground water tank in Chak Jilal Deen. The body, yet to be identified, was spotted in the tank by a villager who informed the police.
The police shifted the body to the DHQ hospital for autopsy. The body seemed about 10 to 15 days old.
The City police found a woman’s body from Nullah Leh. The unidentified woman is said to be in her 30s.
Police said the body was removed to a hospital for autopsy. Efforts are under way to trace her family.
In another incident, Raj Wali, a labourer by profession was stoned to death by some unidentified persons in Qaziabad on Monday, police said.
Shah Zameen, the cousin of the deceased lodged an FIR with the Civil Line police saying that Wali, who had been missing since the previous day, was found dead in a graveyard on Monday.
The police said Wali had been tortured to death and thrown in the graveyard.
Meanwhile, Abid Ali, a resident of Muslim Town, who sustained critical injuries in a brawl on Friday, died in a hospital on Monday, police said.
Ghulam Mohammad, 65, died when a speeding bus hit him while he was crossing a road in Tarnol on Monday, police said.
