PESHAWAR, June 17: The consumers of a cable service of Behari Colony on Warsak Road beat up its staff when they tried to disconnect the service for not paying their bills here on Monday.

“Some 30 clients in the area have not paid the fee for the last five months,” said the cable company owner Jawed Raza.

He told Dawn that six workers had gone to disconnect cable service of defaulters, but were insulted and attacked.

“The people damaged their vehicle deprived them of their expensive equipment. Three workers were injured and were taken to the hospital”, said the company owner.

The police have arrested 16 people on various charges.

Last year, an unruly fanatics set to fire cables in University Town.

Most of the cable operators in the old city area have complained that their consumers “do not pay monthly fee and continue to sublet the service.”
