KARACHI: Painting contest held

KARACHI, June 16: The Anti-Narcotics Force, Sindh, organized a painting contest among the art schools and amateur artists to create public awareness about narcotics.

A large number of art schools and amateur artists took part in the competition. The jury, consisting of Marjori Hussain, Dr Altaf and Rashid Siddiqui, selected four winners each from over 350 paintings and posters who were given prizes.

The first prize went to Mir Shah of Ziarat Art School, second to Ayaz Javed, while third and fourth were bagged by Khalid Iqbal and Khuram Manzoor respectively.

Fatima Gulraiz of Studio Art School won the first prize for poster-making, the second prize went to Aslam Bashir, while Ahmed Ali and Zakia Mali grabbed third and fourth prizes.

An exhibition of all the paintings and posters will be held at a local art gallery from June 26 to 28.—PPI
