SRINAGAR, Oct 31: Five front-rank leaders of an anti-India group in occupied Kashmir were arrested by police on Wednesday, the All Party Hurriyat Conference (APHC) said.

Those arrested were all members of the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front and included the group’s acting chairman, Bashir Bhat, and vice chairman Javed Mir.

The leaders were intercepted on their way from Srinagar to occupied Jammu.

“They have been lodged in Kothi Bagh police station of Srinagar,” the APHC said in a press release.

“The leaders had to appear before a terrorist court in (held) Jammu on Thursday,” it said, “but they have been prevented from reaching Jammu.”
