KOHAT, June 12: A woman and her friend were killed in the name of honour under the tribal custom by their relatives in the Orakzai Agency, on Wednesday.

The girl, after seen with the man, was brought to her home and sprayed with bullets by her brother and father. The man, belonging to Afridi tribe, was killed on the scene in Akakhel area, 140 km north-west from here in Teerah valley.

DROWNS: A young man drowned while swimming in the Tanda Lake. His body was recovered after efforts made by local people, some seven kilometres from here on Wednesday.

The area people started search for the body after finding an abandoned bag and a shirt on the lake side. He was identified as Mohammad Arif, 26, resident of Noor Elahi Colony.

SUICIDE: A woman committed suicide by shooting herself in the head in Gumbat, 45 km on the Rawalpindi Road on Wednesday, according to a report lodged with the police by her father-in-law.
