HYDERABAD, June 12: The Vice Chancellor of the University of Sindh, Mazharul Haq Siddiqui, has constituted a 16-member committee for the implementation of educational reforms/recommendations for the task force in the Jamshoro campus.

According to a notification issued by the Registrar, Prof. Ferozuddin Kazi here on Wednesday, the VC himself will be the chairman while Prof. Asif Ali Kazi, Director of the Institute of Mathematics and \ Computer Science, will be coordinator of the committee.

The deans of all faculties, Prof Dr Allah Dino Memon, Chairman Department of Geology, Prof Dr Rafia Ahmed Shaikh, Chief Librarian of the Allama I.I Kazi Library, Prof Dr Muhammad Usman Memon, Director of the Institute of Pharmacy, Prof Dr Ubedullah Abbasi and Dr M.A. Kazi, and others will be members of the committee.

The committee will recommend ways and means for facilitating the implementation process in the light of guidelines provided by the steering committee.

The steering committee, already constituted by the government, has been entrusted with the task of phased implementation of the recommendations and to provide necessary guidance and support in this regard.

ALLOWANCE: The Pakistan Council for Science and Technology, in recognition of the excellent research work of Dr Muhammad Yar Khuhawar, Professor of Dr M.A. Kazi Institute of Chemistry, University of Sindh, has selected him to receive the research productivity allowance.

In a letter received by the eminent scholar, he has been informed by the PCST that the Peer Review Committee, which examined the research work, has recommended the grant of Rs50,000 per month for the fiscal year 2001-2002.

The allowance is linked to productivity viz research publication/patents/other achievements etc.

The initiative of the Ministry of Science and Technology is meant to promote quality research, check brain drain and attract bright young students towards research careers.

ADMISSIONS: The director admissions, University of Sindh, has announced here on Wednesday that the last date for submission of admission forms to M.Sc (previous) Criminology for the session 2002 has been extended up to Aug 10.
