HYDERABAD, Oct 7: Six members of a family of the Chandio tribe, Goth Naseer Mohammad Chandio, Kamber taluka, Larkana, observed a token hunger strike outside the Hyderabad Press Club on Sunday against the alleged tyranny of a feudal lord, Saeed Chandio.
Talking to newsmen, Arbab Ali Chandio alleged that the feudal lord was a criminal and that he was trying to dispossess him and his family of their ancestral land.
He said that two days back, Saeed, with 20 armed men, had attacked the village, but he, his brother and cousins had luckily escaped unhurt.
He said Saeed Chandio was married to his sister Ayesha, who had already received 15 acres of land as her share of property. However, he added, his brother-in-law wanted to take over the possession of the remaining six acres by force.
He said the feudal lord was the son of Sardar Sultan Ahmed Chandio and had a lot of influence and clout.
Arbab stated that he and his brother, Roshan Sundar Chandio, had been implicated in a number of cases, and added that their lives were in grave danger. He appealed to the authorities concerned to do justice.

Police were put on high alert early Sunday morning at the press club, but no one turned up.
