LAHORE, Oct 7: US ambassador Ms Wendy Chamberlin will address a roundtable conference on “Terrorism in the USA and its aftermath” being held on Oct 9 in Islamabad.
According to a press release, the roundtable conference is being organized by the Institute of Overseas Pakistanis and it will get together prominent personalities from cross section of society to discuss the issues emerged in the wake of Sept 11 terrorism in USA, including ‘Security imperatives on Pakistan’, ‘Its effects on Pakistan’s economy’” and ‘Backlash against the Muslims in general and overseas Pakistanis in particular’.
Speakers include Federal Law and Human Rights Minister Ms Shahida Jamil, Labour, Manpower and Overseas Pakistanis Minister Omar Asghar Khan, former federal minister Sartaj Aziz, former federal minister S. M. Zafar, daily Dawn’s Islamabad resident editor M. Ziauddin, former secretary Najmuddin Sheikh, daily The News editor current affairs Imtiaz Alam, former minister Mushahid Husain, NRB Consultant Daniyal Aziz, columnist Mir Jamilur Rahman, National Federation of Pakistan-Canadian Association Dr Anwar Naseem, daily Ausaf editor Hamid Mir and former president Gallup International Chairman Ijaz Shafi Gillani.
