PESHAWAR, June 7: Pakistan Telecommunication Company’s computerized assistance directory, billing centre and information system was inaugurated by PTCL Operations Director-General Tanveer Ahmad at telephone exchange compound in Dera Ismail Khan on Friday.
Speaking at a press conference after the inauguration, he said the PTCL was embracing the new developments in communication.
National Telecommunication Region-II General Manager Azad Bakht Khan said 15 electromechanical exchanges of the region, having more than 15,000 lines, had been digitized.
This, he said, would enable the customers to avail the Internet, caller’s line identification (CLI), detailed billing and other facilities in a better way.
He said the establishment of computerized billing centre would help reduce grievances of the customers regarding bills. He said that earlier bills were printed in Peshawar which caused delay in their distribution and difficulty in removing mistakes.
He said the installation of computerized directory would help provide updated information to the customers in the least possible time.
The billing information system would enable the customers to get details about their bills on telephone.
