Two youths drown in Chenab

GUJRAT, June 7: Two youths were drowned in the Chenab River while taking bath near old bridge on Friday.

An Edhi employee told Dawn by telephone that three friends Mohsin Ali, Imran Butt and Kashif of Faizabad had been taking bath when strong currents swept them away to the deep water. As a result, Mohsin and Imran drowned while Kashif was rescued by area fishermen. Their bodies were recovered after two hours.

HOUSE LOOTED: Four bandits on Thursday night looted a house and made away with cash and ornaments worth Rs300,000 at Bagh Gurdawara, Sarai Alamgir.

Armed dacoits entered Tahir Rafique’s house, held up the inmates, collected cash and valuables and decamped with the booty.

CRUSHED: An unidentified youth was crushed to death on Friday by a train near Chak Sher Ghazi.
