HYDERABAD, June 6: The Sindh food department has declared the office of the deputy director, Food, Hyderabad, as complaint cell to resolve the problems of growers and to receive complaints of the public regarding the current wheat procurement drive.

All wheat growers of Hyderabad District and neighbouring districts have been asked to contact the deputy director, Food, Hyderabad, in his office in Shahbaz Building, Hyderabad, or on telephone No0221-9200917 regarding any complaint.

WATER THEFT: Shah Nawaz, a landlord of water course No.27-R, Sufi minor, Umerkot Taluka, Mirpurkhas District, on behalf of the tail-enders of Sufi minor has sent telegrams to the corps commander (Sindh), the Sindh governor, and the secretary (Irrigation) complaining about the sale and theft of irrigation water.

He said that since years the tail-end growers of Sufi minor had been complaining to the officials concerned about the sale and theft of water but in vain.

He alleged that the water courses of Sufi minor had been tampered with, extra illegal pipes had been fixed to steal the water, and corrupt irrigation officials were selling the water.
