KARACHI: Dr Ishtiaq passes away

KARACHI, March 26: Dr Syed Ishtiaq Ahmed, a former general secretary of the Pakistan Medical Association, Karachi, died of heart attack on Sunday morning in Sadiqabad, where he had gone to meet a friend.

He was buried on Tuesday in the Defence graveyard. He was a practising orthopaedician and ran a clinic in Federal B Area.

A graduate of Dow Medical College, Dr Ishtiaq had been an activist, associated with the NSF. He has left his wife and three sons.

Soyem will be held on Thursday at Masjid Ibrahim, Phase 1V, Defence Housing Authority, between Zuhar and Maghrib. For women, at his residence — 61/1, 5th Commercial Street, opposite Defence Imambargah.
