KARACHI, June 5: Millat Party has sought greater national unity and solidarity in the critical juncture when India has amassed troops along the Pakistan border.

“Although war clouds have thinned now, the crisis is still there and the whole nation needs to unite against India’s aggressive designs,” said Javed Jabbar, senior vice president of the Millat Party while addressing a news conference at the Press Club here on Wednesday.

He said that India’s unwillingness to withdraw troops was not a good sign. “There is need for unity and solidarity among people and politicians,” he added.

He also said that criticism of government policies was the right of the people, but today the government needs unqualified and unconditional support from them. India is bent on psychological and economic warfare, he said, adding that it was also using the media for malafide propaganda against Pakistan.

“We should also refrain from using the Indian term “cross- border terrorism.” It is a trap used by the Indians,” he said.

Javed Jabbar said that India’s leadership wanted to divert world attention away from the Gujarat tragedy which has claimed the lives of hundreds of Muslims.

Referring to the Almaty Conference, he said the summit proved in favour of Pakistan on many accounts. —PPI
