KARACHI, March 18: Nazim Karachi District Naimatullah Khan has said that the governments of Iran and Pakistan have close and cordial relations, not only that their official as well as peoples’ language was Persian in the subcontinent for the last 200 years but the Muslims of the subcontinent had strong affinity with each other as they were bound with religious, historical and cultural relations.

These views were expressed by him in a local hotel Monday while addressing the inauguration ceremony of Karachi - Teheran Bus Service.

Consulate General of Iran Muhammad Zahiri Ameerani and Naib Nazim Karachi Tariq Hussain were present on the occasion.

It may be recalled that this service was already in operation from Lahore and Islamabad, which has now been commenced from Karachi as well.

He said that Karachi was not only an important city of Asia but, being a port city, it served as a gateway to Afghanistan, Iran and other Muslim countries.

He said that this bus service would strengthen the relations between the people of both the countries.

Consulate General Muhammad Zahiri Ameerani said that Pakistan and Iran enjoyed close brotherly relations and both peoples were tied in a bond of friendship.

He hoped that comfortable travelling facilities would be available to passengers with the commencement of this bus service.—PPI
