BAHAWALNAGAR, March 2: Maulana Jalil Ahmed Akhund, former district chief of the banned SSP, was arrested by local police on Friday night.

He was reportedly wanted in a murder case registered by the Civil Lines police in 1996.

The accused was driven to Bahawalpur on Saturday afternoon.

MURDERED: A woman was axed by her nephew in Maclodganj on Friday. Her son and daughter sustained injuries in a bid to save their mother.
