KARACHI, Feb 16: Sindh government has released Rs40.074 million for the purchase of equipment and material and for the creation of 49 new posts for strengthening the existing microfilming units in Karachi and Hyderabad besides establishing microfilming unit (MFU) each at Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur, Larkana, Mirpurkhas and Nawabshah.
There are two microfilming units in Karachi and Hyderabad, which are not enough for the documentation of economy of the province.
Hence at the initiative of the RS&EP Wing of the Board if Revenue, Sindh, the government of Sindh had decided to establish three new units in Karachi and once in Hyderabad, Sukkur, Larkana, Nawabshah and Mirpurkhas.
Official sources say that about 0.1 Million documents need to be microfilmed in Karachi, 3,195 in Badin, 461 in Mithi, 3,245 in Sukkur, 3,702 in Khairpur, 3,104 in Ghotki, 5,086 in Naushero Feroze, 4,673 in Nawabshah, 1,384 in Shikarpur, 1,456 in Jacobabad, 6,445 in Larkana, 2,720 in Thatta, 4,269 in Dadu, 4,945 in Sanghar, 11,768 in Hyderabad and 4,800 in Mirpurkhas.—APP
