KARACHI, Jan 29: Pakistan State Oil has regained its 100 per cent fuel oil supplies to the Water and Power Development Authority (Wapda) at competitive rates.
According to well-placed sources the PSO will surpass the current monthly of 150,000 tons by end this month.
Sources said that PSO sales to Wapda started picking up from last October when Wapda placed an order of 109,000 tons against its total requirement of 200,000 tons. But in November PSO supplied 85,000 tons against overall demand of 138,000 tons of fuel oil. In December the PSO supplies touched 94,000 tons against a total purchase of 159,000. Finally in January the PSO clinched 100 per cent supply orders from Wapda.
Earlier, following deregulation, Wapda approached other oil marketing companies for the supply of fuel oil, thus, considerably eroding PSO’s share. The PSO has offered special rates to Wapda to retain its relationship.
