MUZAFFARABAD, Oct 11: The job of a retired army official, serving in the AJK Ehtesab bureau on contract basis, was terminated here on Thursday in what was described as a part of the efforts to reorganize the bureau.
Maj (retired) Khalid Aziz, who was deputy director complaints in BPS-18, was sacked by Ehtesab bureau chairman Justice (retired) Basharat Ahmed Sheikh, some two months before the expiry of his one-year contract.
Though the termination order did not mention the reason, sources claimed that it was part of a string of steps being taken to reorganize the bureau and remove misgivings about its working.
Khalid Aziz is the third official of the bureau, who has been relieved of his job in the organization during the past six weeks. One of them included a serving army officer, Maj Sardar Shabbir Ahmed, who was removed from the post of deputy director inquiries/investigations under a disciplinary action and was asked to report to his parent department (army) early this month.
Raja Shahjehan Khan, an officer of the SP rank, working as the director investigations, was also sent back to his parent department of police.
Sources told Dawn that another retired police officer, Raja Latif Khan, currently working on contract basis as director assets in the bureau, would also be removed shortly.
