KARACHI, Oct 29: Pakistan won four gold, 14 silver and 28 bronze medals in the 3rd Islamic Women’s Solidarity Games being held in Tehran, according to information received Monday.
Iran clinched the swimming event with 1800 points, Pakistan finished runners-up with 1300 points, while Syria secured third spot with 648 points.
Pakistan’s top swimmer Kiran Khan clinched two golds in 100m backstroke and 100 meter freestyle apart from winning silver in 50m freestyle in under-12 event.
Sana Wahid got the gold in 200m freestyle and added silver in 50m butterfly in addition to bagging the bronze in 200m individual medley and 50m freestyle.
Natasha Riaz, Rema Qureshi, Ayesha Tajwar and Amil Paracha got the silver in 4x50m freestyle relay.
Pakistan women’s also won the silver in 4x100m relay, 4x100m medley relay and 4x50m medley relay.
Besides performing well in the pool, Pakistan women clinched table tennis team event gold. Ghazala Roohi, Shabnam Bilal, Naila Anjum, Ayesha Batool and Rizwana Salim were the part of Pakistan team.
Pakistan women shuttlers also reached the semi-finals of the badminton event.—APP
