PESHAWAR Varsity, NTS sign MoU

PESHAWAR, Dec 4: NWFP University of Engineering and Technology Vice-Chancellor Syed Imtiaz Husain Gilani on Saturday stressed the importance of engineers in the development of the country's infrastructure.

On the occasion of signing of a memorandum of understanding between the university and the National Testing Services (NTS) at a hotel, he said a pool of PhDs would be nurtured in the next years.

Under the MoU, information technology services at the university would be developed and the NTS would supervise tests for foreign scholarships of the students at a cost of Rs500,000.

Mr Gilani termed the role of engineers in development very important and said they should be given a central role in policy making in any country.

NTS Director Haroon Rashid said the services of the NTS and Comsats would help the university in conducting tests for selection of candidates for scholarships and upgrading its information technology network.
