KARACHI, Sept 25: Three ships carrying containers and to load cement are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Sunday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was maintained on the higher side as the port agencies tried to clear the inward rush of foreign flag vessels. Seven ships, Kota Tegap, Wan Hai-265, Orient Stride, to unload and load containers, Al-Naser, to unload and load general cargo, Pacific Wisdom to offload steel coils, Forum Samoa, to unload vehicals and M.M.M. Galveston to load molasses.

Five ships, Iran Sattari, Napht al-Yemen-7, Hannibal-2 Shalamar and Al-Maqwa departed on Saturday, while Wan Hai-265, Al-Naser,M.M.M. Galveston, Pacific Wisdom and Kota Tegap are expected to sail out on Sunday.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves was active where a total tonnage of 76,871 tons comprising 18,370 tones of export cargo including rice, cement and clinker and 58,501 tons of import tonnage.

The following ships are due on Sunday; Oranje, Iran Kordestan, with containers and Sukaina to load 2,000 tons of cement.

The following are due on Monday; Nur Yanbu, with chemicals, S.Cabot, Astor, Bunga Tersak, Tai He, with containers.

Port Qasim

KARACHI, Sept 25: Two ships carrying containers and edible oil arrived at the outer anchorage during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Saturday.

Meanwhile, berthing activity was also active as three ships were accommodated berths at QICT and IOCB. Berth occupancy remained on the higher side as six ships, Al-Wajba, E.R Sydney, Bahagia, Tolmi, Overseas Harriette and E. Trader, were busy in loading and unloading containers, edible oil, seeds, wheat and iron ore.

A cargo volume of 50,386 tons comprising 45,592 tons of import cargo and 4,794 tons of export tonnage was handled.

Three ships, E.R. Capetown, Rosenne and Prigipos, were due to arrive on Saturday, while Sinar Sabang, Batur-V and Kronos were expected to reach the port on Sunday. Sailing was also active as two vessels, Bahagia and E.R Sydney, left the port while Tolmi was due to leave.
