KARACHI, Aug 28: The Sindh education department has warned the private educational institutions against increasing fee. It has also asked the schools to make regular payment of salaries to their staff.

The education department stated that it had been receiving complaints from parents of students studying in private educational institutions and teachers working there regarding non-payment of salaries to the staff and increase in school-fee.

The department has issued notices to such schools, asking them to clarify their position or else face an action in accordance with the Private School Control and Registration (Amendment) Act 2002.

The education department further stated that the institutions have already been asked to ensure teaching of only approved books since complaints have also been received about certain institutions teaching supplementary reading material, which contains matter contrary to the set norms.

The department has clarified categorically that cases pertaining to affairs of the privately-run educational institutions would henceforth be dealt with at the department level according to provisions of the act.-APP
