ISLAMABAD, Aug 21: Minister for Information and Broadcasting Sheikh Rashid Ahmed on Saturday said that a policy for regularisation of over 1,000 resource persons in the PTV would be presented to the new government.
He was talking to a delegation of newly-elected PTV Employees Union here.
The minister advised that PTV employees should make strive to revive the organization's position.
Sheikh Rashid Ahmed said that the government would endeavour to provide all facilities to the employees, including residential accommodations, adding that a comprehensive plan was being chalked out in this regard.
The minister asked the office-bearers of the new union to submit their suggestions for boosting the organization's performance.
The union representatives thanked the Minister for providing special grant of over Rs840 million for modernization of PTV and giving special attention towards the welfare of its employees.
They also thanked for his special attention to help recover Rs350 million, out of its total outstanding dues in various sectors.
The delegation, included PTV union's senior vice-chairman Iftikhar Ahmed, president Iqbal Shaheen, senior vice-president Saleem Khan and secretary-general Malik Shabbir.-APP
