RAWALPINDI, July 31: President General Pervez Musharraf on Saturday stressed the need for a substantive and result-oriented dialogue for resolution of all outstanding issues between India and Pakistan, including Jammu and Kashmir, for lasting peace and stability in South Asia.
He stated this while presiding over a meeting that carried out a review of the composite dialogue process between the two countries.
The issues discussed during the meeting included peace and security, Jammu and Kashmir, Wullar Barrage, promotion of friendly exchanges, Siachen, Sir Creek, terrorism and drug trafficking, and economic and commercial cooperation.
Bilateral talks are scheduled to be held in August.
The meeting was briefed by the foreign ministry officials and secretaries of other departments on various aspects of the ongoing dialogue.
Foreign Minister Khurshid Mehmood Kasuri and Vice Chief of Army Staff, Gen Muhammad Yousaf were prominent among those attended the meeting.-APP
