KARACHI, July 31: Hundreds of children from schools in Hawkesbay accompanied by City Nazim Naimatullah Khan visited the mausoleum of Quaid-i-Azam Mohammed Ali Jinnah on Saturday to pay homage to father of the nation.

While children of other schools were spending their holidays in leisure at home or at recreational places, these children continued with their academic pursuits at the "Summer Education Camp" especially organized by the Lyari Expressway Resettlement Project office.

Three hundred children along with their teachers and the city nazim laid wreath at the Quaid's mausoleum and offered fateha. The wreath carried the message: "We pledge before the Quaid to make Pakistan an enlightened state through education".

They also witnessed the impressive change of guard ceremony. On the occasion, they were given briefing by the officials of Quaid-i-Azam Mazar Management Board about history of the mausoleum.

Addressing the children, City Nazim Naimatullah Khan said that he was greatly delighted to see that the children of Hawkesbay Resettlement Project were attending the summer school programme, especially organized for them.

Lauding the efforts of Lyari Expressway Resettlement authorities for organizing the summer camp, he said that the acquisition of knowledge by children of Lyari was a good omen.

Naimatullah Khan observed that with the shifting of people to this newly developed site, their quality of life had registered a visible improvement. He was also appreciative of the fact that in the schools of Hawkesbay Resettlement Project, the educated girls of the very area were imparting education.

On the occasion, the nazim distributed uniforms and gifts among the children. They were later taken to a recreational visit to Safari Park as part of their summer school programme.

On Sunday, the girl students of Hawkesbay schools will be taken on a recreational visit to the mausoleum and Safari Park. -APP
