ISLAMABAD, July 24: The Central Board of Revenue (CBR) has revised upward the rates of duty drawback on export of polyester based fabrics on the persistent demand of textile exporters. The new rates will be applicable retrospectively from July 1, 2004 , said a customs notification issued here on Saturday.
The CBR has recently cut the rate of duty drawback on these items to bring it at par with actual duty paid at import stage.
According to the notification, the new rate of duty drawback will be Rs1.79 per kg on export on grey blended fabrics made of polyester staple fibre (PSF) (applicable to all blends from 15 per cent PSF and 85 per cent cotton to 25 per cent PSF and 75 per cent cotton); Rs3.02 per kg on export on grey blended fabrics made of PSF (applicable to all blends from 30 per cent PSF and 70 per cent cotton to 40 per cent PSF and 55 per cent cotton); Rs4.26 per kg on export on grey blended fabrics made of PSF (applicable to all blends from 50 per cent PSF and 50 per cent cotton to 60 per cent PSF and 40 per cent cotton); Rs5.49 per kg on export on grey blended fabrics made of PSF (applicable to all blends from 65 per cent PSF and 35 per cent cotton to 80 per cent PSF and 20 per cent cotton).
The rate of duty drawback will be Rs2.54 on bleached blended fabrics made of polyester staple fibre (PSF) and cotton fibre (applicable to all blends from 15 per cent PSF and 85 per cent cotton to 25 pre cent PSF and 75 per cent cotton); Rs3.77 on bleached blended fabrics made of PSF and cotton fibre (applicable to all blends from 30 per cent PSF and 70 per cent cotton to 45 per cent PSF and 55 per cent cotton); Rs5.01 on bleached blended fabrics made of PSF and cotton fibre (applicable to all blends from 50 per cent PSF and 50 per cent cotton to 60 pre cent PSF and 40 per cent cotton); Rs6.24 on bleached blended fabrics made of PSF and cotton fibre (applicable to all blends from 65 per cent PSF and 35 per cent cotton to 80 pre cent PSF and 20 per cent cotton).
The rate will be Rs5.11 per kg on dyed or printed blended fabrics made of PSF and cotton fibre (applicable to all blends from 15 per cent PSF and 85 per cent cotton to 25 per cent PSF and 75 per cent cotton); Rs6.35 per kg on dyed or printed blended fabrics made of PSF and cotton fibre (applicable to all blends from 30 per cent PSF and 70 per cent cotton to 45 per cent PSF and 55 per cent cotton); Rs7.66 per kg on dyed or printed blended fabrics made of PSF and cotton fibre (applicable to all blends from 50 per cent PSF and 50 per cent cotton to 60 per cent PSF and 40 per cent cotton); Rs8.75 per kg on dyed or printed blended fabrics made of PSF and cotton fibre (applicable to all blends from 65 per cent PSF and 35 per cent cotton to 80 per cent PSF and 20 per cent cotton).
The rate will be 1.86 per cent of the fob value on grey blended garments, wearing apparel (all blends of PSF from 15 per cent and cotton fibre); 1.93 per cent of the fob value on bleached blended garments, wearing apparel (all blends of PSF from 15 per cent and cotton fibre); 2.21 per cent of the fob value on dyed or printed blended garments, wearing apparel (all blends of PSF fibre from 15 per cent and cotton fibre; 2.01 per cent of fob value on grey blended made-ups - bedwear, curtain, table linen etc., (all blends of PSF fibre from 15 per cent and cotton fibre); 2.20 per cent of fob value on bleach blended made-ups - bedwear, curtain, table linen etc., (all blends of PSF fibre from 15 per cent and cotton fibre); 3.19 per cent of fob value on dyed or printed blended made-ups - bedwear, curtain, table linen etc., (all blends of PSF fibre from 15 per cent and cotton fibre).
The rate will be Rs3.76 per kg on grey blended fabrics made of PSF fibre and cotton fibre containing 48 per cent PSF and 52 per cent cotton; Rs3.20 per kg on grey blended fabrics made of PSF fibre and cotton fibre containing 40 per cent PSF and 60 per cent cotton; Rs4.51 per kg on bleach blended fabrics made of PSF fibre and cotton fibre containing 48 per cent PSF and 52 per cent cotton; Rs3.95 per kg on bleach blended fabrics made of PSF fibre and cotton fibre containing 40 per cent PSF and 60 per cent cotton; Rs7.08 per kg on dyed or printed blended fabrics made of PSF fibre and cotton fibre containing 48 per cent PSF and 52 per cent cotton; Rs6.52 per kg on dyed and printed blended fabrics made of PSF fibre and cotton fibre containing 40 per cent PSF and 60 per cent cotton.
And the rate is Rs7.28 per kg on grey fabric made of 100 per cent PSF; Rs7.60 per kg on bleached fabric made of 100 per cent PSF; Rs8.41 per kg on dyed and printed fabric made of 100 per cent PSF; 2.45 per cent of the fob value on grey napkins and aprons made of 100 per cent onward PSF; 2.55 per cent of the fob value on bleached napkins and aprons made of 100 per cent onward PSF; 2.82 per cent of the fob value on dyed and printed napkins and aprons made of 100 per cent onward PSF.
The rate of duty drawback will be Rs6.94 per kg on 100 per cent PSF yarn; Rs4.51 per kg on PSF blended yarn (65 per cent and 35 per cent cotton); Rs3.47 per kg on PSF blended yarn (50 per cent PSF 50 per cent cotton); Rs2.08 per kg on PSF blended yarn (30 per cent PSF and 70 per cent cotton); Rs1.04 per kg on PSF blended yarn (15 per cent PSF and 85 per cent cotton); Rs3.33 per kg on PSF blended yarn (48 per cent PSF and 52 per cent cotton) and Rs2.75 per kg on PSF blended yarn (40 per cent PSF and 60 per cent cotton).
BLENDED YARN: The CBR has also revised upward the rate of duty drawback on export of polyester-viscose staple fibre blended yarn on the demand of exporters.
The new rate will be effective from July 1, 2004, said a customs notification issued on Saturday.
The new rate of duty drawback will be Rs6.15 per kg on polyester-viscose staple fibre blended yarn (containing 80 per cent polyester and 20 per cent cotton; Rs5.73 per kg (containing 65 per cent polyester and 35 per cent cotton; Rs5.31 per kg (containing 50 per cent polyester and 50 per cent cotton; Rs4.74 per kg (containing 30 per cent polyester and 70 per cent cotton; Rs4.46 per kg (containing 20 per cent polyester and 80 per cent cotton; Rs4.88 per kg (containing 35 per cent polyester and 65 per cent cotton; and Rs5.87 per kg on polyester-viscose staple fibre blended yarn (containing 70 per cent polyester and 30 per cent cotton.
