Yousuf, Imran to compete in Jordan

KARACHI, May 8: Former World and Asian champion Muhammad Yousuf and Imran Shazhad will represent Pakistan in Asian Snooker Championship to be held at Aqaba (Jordan) from June 5 to 12.

While Yousuf of Sindh will be appearing in his record 14th Asian championship, Imran of Punjab will be making his debut at the continental level.

The 55-year-old veteran Yousuf won the Asian crown at Karachi in 1998.

Pakistan squad will be flying to Jordan capital Amman on June 3 on its way to historical city of Aqaba to feature in the championship, PBSA joint secretary Arif Taherbhoy said on Saturday.

Around sixty cueists representing 30 Asian countries would be featuring in the eight-day competition.

He said President, Pakistan Billiards and Snooker Association (PBSA) Asghar Valika will be the delegate and Shahnawaz Khan will be representing Asian Confederation of Billiards Sport (ACBS) Board of Directors in the meeting of ACBS Annual General Meeting. -APP
