KARACHI: Man stabbed to death

KARACHI, Oct 29: An unidentified young man was stabbed to death in Saddar on Monday.

The police said that the victim whose identity could not be immediately known was stabbed by unknown assailants in front of Rainbow Centre in Saddar. The injured man was rushed to Civil Hospital where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival.

Hospital sources said that the unidentified man died of a single stab wound inflicted by a sharp-edged weapon in his chest.

ROBBERIES: Four robberies were committed in the city on Monday, the police said.

Bandits dashed into the house of Manzoor in Frontier Colony and robbed him of cash and gold jewellery at gunpoint.

The same gang barged into the house of Painda Khan in the same locality and got away with cash and valuables.

Bandits robbed Mustafa of cash and valuables in Gulbahar.

Dacoits looted valuables from Mashkoor in Moosa Colony.

DIES: A boy who suffered gunshot injuries in New Karachi died in a hospital on Monday. The police said that Mushtaq, aged 11, suffered gunshot injuries in Sector 11-G, Godhra Camp, New Karachi Industrial Area. The police did not have details of the incident till our going to the press.

Mushtaq was rushed to Liaquat National Hospital from where the police were informed of his death. The body was sent to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for post- mortem, hospital sources said.

INJURED: A man was seriously injured in a train accident in Bin Qasim on Monday. The police said that Abdul Haque, aged 40, was travelling in a Karachi-bound train coming from Mirpurkhas. He fell from the train in Bin Qasim area and was seriously injured. Abdul Haque was rushed to Jinnah Post- graduate Medical Centre where doctors said that he lost both his legs in the accident. Later, he was shifted to a private hospital, sources at the JPMC said.

ARRESTED: The police arrested a suspected car hijacker in the city on Monday and recovered five stolen cars from his possession.
