Smuggling bid foiled

NOWSHEHRA, June 1: A Customs team foiled the bid to smuggle cloth, worth Rs300,000, here the other day.

Sources said acting on a tip-off, a Customs squad intercepted a vehicle (JX-899) belonging to a courier company, near Kund Khairabad.

On thorough search, the team recovered huge quantity of cloth from the Rawalpindi-bound truck.

The vehicle was carrying 240kg of raw silk worth Rs300,000. The Customs staff has seized the cloth besides impounding the vehicle.
